Sneakers
Sneakers are like clothes: if a white pair has primary-color or black trim, there is a 99 percent chance the dye will bleed in the wash.
Designer sneakers are a particular problem. Even when the upper is canvas, the insole is often leather, and leather bleeds badly.
Once dye has bled, it is nearly impossible to undo. Take them to a sneaker-cleaning specialist — or, better still, buy sneakers without contrasting colors in the first place.

Beating Sneaker Odor
Mix Listerine (or any mouthwash) and rubbing alcohol in equal parts in a spray bottle, shake well and spray the inside of the sneakers.
It takes care of odor and bacteria alike. Spray the shoe cabinet too, while you’re at it.
A Piper deodorizer also works well.
